The Project

Tony Johnson joined Hazel Dell as our full-time Children’s Minister in 2003. Under Tony’s leadership the Children’s Ministry at Hazel Dell has enjoyed tremendous growth. To accommodate the increase in attendance, many of the children of Hazel Dell have been meeting in the detached trailers behind our building since 2002. We knew this would be a temporary situation, and it is now time to begin the next phase of our Hazel Dell Property Master Plan. To describe the coming days as exciting would be an incredible understatement. Our new Children’s Ministry facility will accommodate more than twice as many children as our current space will hold. Teachers, children, and their families will no longer have to navigate wet and slick walkways to reach their classrooms.  Restrooms will be located within the classrooms. There will be a large area for families to gather and connect with one another. With the construction of our new children’s ministry facility, we have an amazing opportunity to build something that will not only impact our children, but also the children of this community for generations to come. Jesus places a high value on children and so do we.

Funding

The anticipated cost of the new Children’s Ministry facility, completely furnished, is $4.5 million. A bank loan will be required for any funds that are not raised through the “Building A Legacy” campaign. We hope to receive commitments for as much money as possible in order to borrow as little as possible.
